Fire ventilation

Fire ventilation systems, just like smoke exhaust systems, allow the creation of zones free from smoke and hot combustion products in enclosed interiors. In the event of fire they lower temperature in rooms and supply air from the outside. They are also used for ventilation purposes in normal operating conditions. Depending on type, their fire resistance ratings range from 60 to 120 minutes.

Fire ventilation consists in forcing mechanically the air to circulate by means of many connected ventilating ducts. In the case of smoke exhaust system, a natural mechanism of air exhausting based on temperature and pressure difference is used.
